Anne Pelletier known as Passavant, daughter of the late Mathurin Pelletier and Catherine LAGNEAU, of the parish of St-Pierre, c. Dreux, EV. Chartres, in Beauce. Born around 1643. Arrived in 1665. Died on December 12, 1686, in Pointe-aux-Trembles. She didn't know how to sign. She came to New France as the King's daughter.
Her marriage to Pierre Papin took place in Montreal on December 14, 1665. This Pierre was born around 1628 and he in turn died on April 8, 1715, and did not know how to sign either! The couple's household was established in Pointe-aux-Trembles and they had 8 children.
Anne made the crossing to New France aboard the ship: The St-Jean-Baptiste de Dieppe which had a tonnage of 300. She is registered as passenger #66. The name of the owner of the ship was: Aubert de la Chenaye, the name of the shipowner: La Compagnie des Indes and the name of the captain: Pierre Fillye. We guess that the ship took on board 90 Filles du Roy at the port of Dieppe and that it took 11 or 12 other Filles du Roy to Larochelle before sailing towards New France and arriving in Quebec on October 2, 1665. on board from this ship, another daughter of the King bearing the name of Pelletier, Marie Pelletier.

Here is what we know about her husband, Pierre Papin. He was the son of François Papin and Michelle Lagneau of Notre-Dame de Sabli-sur-Sarthe, AR. La Flèche, EV. Le Mans, Maine (Sarthe). Pierre died at age 86 on April 8, 1715, and was buried the next day, April 9, in Boucherville.
